Stay conditions

We accommodate residents for periods ranging from 3 to 12 months. A financial contribution of 30% of the family income is required. Each individual participates in community house tasks as well as group meetings and activities.

Each family must sign a lease with the organization, which is valid based on adherence to certain conditions, such as:

  • Agree to be referred to French language classes, if necessary.
  • Agree to psychosocial follow-up.
  • Participate in household responsibilities and community life (weekly chores and activities).
  • Respect the house rules.

Admission criteria

  • Be a family: A family is considered any unit with children or a pregnant woman.
  • Have precarious migrant status: This includes asylum seekers and other temporary migrant categories with or without status, intending to settle in Quebec.
  • Be referred by a partner organization or institution.
  • Have one or more vulnerability criteria: Vulnerability can be defined as any obstacle to full participation in Quebec society, such as not speaking the language, having a limiting health issue, or facing parenting challenges.
  • Be unemployed.
  • Not own a car.
  • Be autonomous: An autonomous person is one who can fully participate in house tasks, activities, and does not require 24/7 assistance.

Families are assigned an individual room, with or without a private bathroom. Shared spaces include bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a laundry room, two playrooms for children, a computer room, a sewing room, and an indoor garden. Unfortunately, the house is not wheelchair accessible.
